Kindred (the owner of Unibet) is one of the most active players on the Romanian gambling market, and live poker in Romania is one of the most favored areas of the Swedish giant.

This year, Unibet Poker entered into a partnership with the Romanian live tour operator PokerFest for organizing live festivals throughout 2017 under the auspices of the two partners.
The decision came after last year’s Unibet Open in Bucharest beat all audience records in the history of nearly a decade of the circuit. The Marriott Hotel in the capital brought together 603 players in the main tournament of the Unibet Open tournament, playing for an unprecedented prize pool: 584,910 euros, unmatched by Unibet Open at any previous stage.
The champion of the edition was Romanian Traian Bostan who won 100,000 €, a success for which he was then awarded the title of “Poker Player of the Year” from our magazine.
The success of 2016 has fueled the enthusiasm of Unibet and a number of “Unibet PokerFest” live festivals have been organized this year. Players have had online qualifying campaigns with guaranteed seats on Unibet Poker and a lot of other bonuses from the organizers.
This collaboration for 2017 will reach its climax at the end of November. Between November 27th and December 3rd, Marriott Hotel will host the Unibet Open for the second time. The $ 1,100 main event (Main Event), preceeded by a lot of online and live satellites, will guarantee 500,000 euros in prizes and will be accompanied by a series of side events and cash games.
The year and season endings in live poker have always been extremely animated, and have always played record breaking entries.

This year, the Unibet Open Festival will not be an exception, with great prognosis from everyone:
“2017 was a fantastic year for the Romanian live circuit and Unibet is proud to have contributed to the development of this phenomenon, alongside PokerFest”, said Lucian Prisecaru, Manager of Unibet Romania. “The Unibet Open Stage, which ends the year, has a huge significance for all of us. In Bucharest we beat all of our records of attendance on the circuit and that is why we want to make the next festival a celebration of poker for the Romanian players, inviting participants from dozens of countries.“

“The PokerFest’s six-year evolution has not been comfortable for one moment since we have always forced ourselves to increase the range of events organized. For that, we have always joined forces with the best, and the Unibet Open is one of the great global circuits which we have been targeting even from the beginning”, said Sorin Constantinescu, PokerFest CEO. “Last year’s stage was a record for us and for Unibet. This year we will try to beat this record.”
