Interview with Mr. Lis Viorel

Mr. Lis, how do you feel at 81?
– Like at 18 years old. Hihihi. How to feel, like at 81 years old. An age that many wish to reach, I have it, I hope to live with my wife for many more years.

How was the surprise of your wife and friends, to take you to the casino on your birthday?
– It was a pleasure for me. There’s a casino where I like it, I feel good, safe, the people there behave extraordinarily nice, where you can play or sit for a coffee, buy a ticket, socialize, it’s like a community.

What wish did you make when you blew on the cake you received from Gameworld for your birthday?
– When I blew out the candles on the cake. Well, a normal desire for someone my age. To live, to be aware of myself and to be with my wife until the last moment.

What else do you want at this age?
– I don’t think I can wish for something that I really like, because I no longer have the strength, I no longer have the strength to achieve what I want. I mean, I wish I could do what I’ve loved all my life, do politics, run, walk, walk, travel, work, I build something, to help people. They are all the desires of a man.

Mr. Lis, what do you think about sports betting?
– Sports betting is beautiful, exciting, I like it. I don’t gamble big on tickets, for me they are fun and a way to get my brain to calculate, because I watch match odds before I play, I have many sites downloaded on my phone where I watch matches from all over the world , rankings and everything related to the sports field. I still get a ticket every now and then and that keeps me in the game. Since I have nothing else to do and stay at home all day, it is a pleasant occupation for me to watch the matches, to look at the results.

What’s it like to watch a match you bet on?
– It’s thrilling. Especially when it’s 0-0 and I scored 1 and that’s why the favorite team scores in the 90th minute. Or if he misses in the 90th minute and it’s even more fantastic. Hihi.

Do you win or what is it like when you win any tickets?
– I don’t play with a high value on the ticket because I don’t have any, and sometimes I still get out and I’m glad for that, because I thought of them then and I got them. If I win 100 or 200 lei, I’m happy. Because I stay at home all day, in the medical situation I’m in and because of age and illnesses, but I needed an occupation, I’m really sad that I can’t see well anymore to read the match odds, I bought some glasses with magnifying glass, but it’s still hard for me, but I’m still watching them on my phone, where you can still zoom in on the app.

What do you think of the slots?
– Slots, too, are fun for me, from time to time, now even less often than before that I can no longer move around alone. My opinion is that everyone should only play as much as they can afford and from time to time, go and try your luck, for me it’s just a pleasure. People need to understand that games of any kind are a means of entertainment, of disconnection, not a way to make a quick buck. I have worked all my life. But I have the right to relax as I want.

Where will you celebrate your birthday next year?
– I don’t know, it’s a surprise, if not at Bellu, I want it to be in a beautiful place, to live and be with my loved ones.

What rate would you put on that, that you are also turning 82?
– 50/50. As always, it is not known whether they are alive or not.

What advice do you have for younger people?
– Take care of them, stick to work, fight for the fulfillment of their dreams and take care of the lifestyle, be healthy, to have work power and to be able to enjoy what you have achieved.

How is life at 81 in one word?
– Now she is beautiful, the only thing is that I have health problems and I have to stay at home more. But I have things to read, things to watch on TV, I play sports bets, I have a beautiful wife who takes care of me. These are not things to be neglected, especially since I went through many problems in life and look, I have arrived now.

How did you feel on your birthday, February 19, 2024, when you turned 81?
– I felt excellent, and that was thanks to the people who thought of me. It was a pleasant surprise at the casino, at Gameworld in Mall Vitan. Thanks to Mr. Director Otto Torok Attila, the casino manager, he is a very prepared and decent person, he never forgets anything, he knew it was my birthday, he welcomed me with a big and beautiful cake, on which were placed the lucky sevens 77777 from my favorite game and age my, 81 years from the candles, which in reverse is 18 years, Who wouldn’t want to be 18 years old again and start over!?…I was moved and I thank them. All the management there is very attentive to the people who come, to the customers, and look, they haven’t forgotten me, because in the past I used to go more often, when I could. The manager Otto does his best to make people feel good there in every way, he managed to create a community of loyal customers, some people I have known there for 20 years. And even if you don’t win every time you go there, there is food, you can have a coffee, a cocktail, it’s fun, they have parties with live music, different singers come and perform there, so it was a pleasure for me to go and I felt excellent.

Viorel Lis was born in the village of Zărnești, Com. Mălureni, County Argeș, on February 19, 1943. He was, initially, interim mayor of the Capital, between January 16, 1997 and November 13, 1998.
Later, Lis was elected as mayor for the period November 13, 1998 – June 26, 2000. In 2004, he was the candidate of the New Generation Party, for the post of general mayor, in the local elections in Bucharest.
Viorel Lis has been in a relationship with Oana since 1998. In 2011, the two became husband and wife. And they participated together in various shows in showbiz, where they were invited because they were and are a special couple that attracts the attention of the public.
