David Copperfield, born David Seth Kotkin, is now 56. He is an American illusionist and the famous ‚Forbes’ magazine described him as the most successful magician in the history. His career, spanning over three decades, has featured numerous carefully elaborated illusions. The list could include the making the Statue of Liberty ‚disappear’ or ‚walking’ through the Great Wall of China.
Born in Metuchen, New Jersey, David Copperfield is the son of a Jewish family, established in the United States of America. He started in this trade of magic since a very young age, being granted the certificate of illusionist at 12. Two years later, he became the youngest member of the Society of American magicians and at 16, he was already teaching a course in magic at New York University.

Copperfield performed shows after shows, was invited to play on TV and his magic tricks broke the box office records worldwide. He has won 21 Emmy awards, after being nominated for at least 38 times. He was named the ‚magician of the year’ in 1980 and 1987. The Guinness Book mentions 11 records in his name. He also has a star on Hollywood Walk Of Fame and he can boast about being cast in the ‚Liberian Girl’ videoclip of late Michael Jackson.
