Portugal, dreamland for gambling lovers
Estoril Casino is still the largest on the old continent, and its reputation grows even stronger as this location has been mentioned in books and successful movies.
Estoril is a city in Portugal, reputed for its thermal waters and cosmopolite and noble ambience. At first a small resort, it later became a favorite destination for the European dispossessed royals, among whom we mention King Carol of Romania. ‘The Portuguese Riviera’, as the city of Estoril was dubbed, hosts beautiful gardens, golf courts, a splendid beach and, most of all, an imposing casino.
Gathering spot for elites
Estoril Casino was the meeting place for the high society and a real nest for the espionage agents during the WWII. It was also the source of inspiration for Ian Fleming, who wrote ‚Casino Royale’ novel, which on its turn prompted the famous James Bond movie with Daniel Craig playing the part of the 007 Agent.
1,000 slots and live tournaments at weekends
Estoril Casino is 18 kilometres off the city of Lisbon, the capital and 20 kilometres away from the international airport. The actor Julio Cesar is the artistic manager of the Casino.
Initially founded by Teodoro das Malas, it is currently managed by Mario Assis Ferreira. The Casino features 1,000 slot machines and a large number of live table games. The location is truly considered as a bliss for the gambling lovers. Here, they are given the opportunity to play roulette, blackjack, punto banco, poker, etc. Every weekend, the Casino hosts live poker tournaments.
