An ambitious billionaire and his megaproject

Stephen Hung is a visionary businessman, who never leaves anything to chance. His future plans are grandiose, as he intends to open an exclusivist hotel-casino in Macau, never like seen before.

Age 54 and a 30-year career in business, the Hong Kong magnate is the President of Louis XIII Holdings company. The billionaire Stephen Hung studied at Columbia University and University of Southern California. He was involved in the banking sector while working for Merill Lynch Asia. He is married to the former model Deborah Valdez and they have two children, Sean and Ivan.

A great project

The latest and boldest projects of Stephen Hung is to build a lavish and extravagant hotel-casino in Macau, the new gambling paradise. The location, which was scheduled to be inaugurated at the end of 2014 or first quarter in 2015 will be named after Louis XIII, a great French king.

Same as the most expensive China brandy

The hotel-casino will be located south off the Cotai Coast, close to the exclusivist residential complex Ona Oasis. The name of the location is, paradoxically, similar with the priciest brandy to drink in China – a bottle costs 2,500 dollars. ‚I really want the hotel-casino be an unforgettable experience for our guests. Not like a copy of Las Vegas or Disney, as these are not real. I want our clients say that they went to Louis XIII because it is the best and richest,’ explained the businessman.

Brand restaurants and famed jewelry houses

Princess Tania de Bourbon Parme, a designer who is a descendent of Louis XIII King is involved with the project for Louis XIII hotel-casino. This ambitious work will take in the famous restaurant L’Ambroise, property of the well-known chef Bernard Pacaud, frequently visited by members of the European royal houses, Parisian high society, celebrities, business personalities. The stores inside the location will also be super-exclusivist, such as Graff jewelry house. The entrance in this boutique will require an invitation and a prior reservation. None of the displayed objects will cost less than one million dollars. Louis XIII hotel-casino will feature 236 rooms and 66 game tables. The residential apartment can be rented for 130,000 dollars per night.

Macau, in the black

According to the statistics, the number of tourists in Macau has increased 20% per year. The gross earnings from gambling exceeded the fabulous amount of 38 billions last year, six times more than in Las Vegas.
