The last great live poker tournament of 2012 is over
The Vesuvius Casino in Brasov hosted the last leg of the PokerFest this year, where our publication ‚Casino Life & Business Magazine’ was a media partner.
The tournament took place between 17 and 22 of December in Brasov, at the Vesuvius Casino. A number of 200 players registered at the event, both beginners and big names in poker. After a long Final Table and a real endurance game of heads-up, Robert Cezarescu managed to reach first position.
Won €22,700
The champion received the tournament cup and a substantial prize of €22,700. The Final Table was the longest in the PokerFest circuit and lasted for almost 12 hours. Cezarescu entered here as a short-stack and remained the same until the heads-up. The famous player needed three hours to close the game against Adrian Voiculescu, a local who played at the tournament. Voiculescu left home with a €21,000 prize.
First back-to-back circuit champion
For Cezarescu, the Brasov tournament is his second PokerFest title he has won. Thus, the great player can boast himself of making history for having won these two titles and becoming the first double champion in the biggest poker circuit in Romania. Cezarescu won the PokerFest in Piatra Neamt last April.
Alex Mitrus missed opportunity
Should he be given the opportunity, provided he was the winner at the Brasov tournament, he would have been the first back-to-back champion in the PokerFest tournament. He already had the October title from Piatra Neamt. Unfortunately, Mitrus finished in the ninth position in Brasov and cashed in €3,350. The first PokerFest tournament of 2013 will take place in Bucharest, between 11 and 18 of February.
Dan Murariu awarded by Casino Life & Business Magazine
At PokerFest in Brașov, in one of the poker breaks from day 2, Dan Murariu received the Casino Life & Business Magazine award as he was voted the Romanian Poker Player of the Year 2012.
The vote for the Romanian Poker Player of the Year ended December 13, at midnight, on Holdem.ro, the first and the largest poker community from Romania.
