March was for PokerFest Club the continuation of a project that begun many years ago with the tournaments held by PokerFest across the country and that has changed the face of live poker in Romania.
In just a month after starting the activity in the new location at the Marriott Hotel, PokerFest Club already hosts the largest weekly tournament in Romania (in terms of buy-in) – Weekly Highroller, the largest weekly tournament in Romania (by number of players) – PokerFest Weekend and Stars Tournament which we hope to become a habit and bring as much attention to poker.
Weekly Highroller is a tournament with a buy in of 700 RON which runs every Tuesday, with a guaranteed prize pool of 20,000 RON that brings more and more players, the last edition having 34 participants who played for a prize pool of 28,050 RON.
As every weekend brings tournaments with large fields and big prizes for online poker players, PokerFest Club organizes the “PokerFest Weekend” tournament that no live poker player should miss, first due to the guaranteed prize of 100,000 RON for a buy-in of only 330 RON, but also for the atmosphere and the unique experience a player can have in the club.
The tournament has quickly become one of the favorite games from PokerFest Club calendar, reaching full capacity in the last edition, on Day 1B. Each final table of the tournament was broadcasted in livestream format on the PokerFest’s official channel on Youtube, channel that recently overcame 80,000 views.
Also in March, Dan Chisu has awarded with the most important title so far as poker player. After winning Weekly Highroller in October and getting the 2nd place in the same tournament in January, the time has come for Dan Chisu to win his first PokerFest trophy at the end of March. PokerFest Cup was a tournament with a buy in of 1000 RON and it was the first tournament in Romania featuring the “accumulator” format. Thus, the players were able to attend both Day 1A and Day 1B, and if they survive both days, the chips were cumulate in Day 2.
PokerFest Cup registered 153 entries in the starting two days, and the big prize and the trophy went to the famous director, actor and film producer Dan Chisu, proving once again that in poker intelligence, experience and ambition are qualities that inevitably will bring you success.
Dan Chisu also confirmed his presence to the 2nd edition of the Stars Tournament that will be held in late April.
The first edition took place on 9thof March and in the end Liviu Varciu was the winner in the heads-up with Gina Pistol, who is promote the image of PokerFest Club. The tournamnet was also attended by Sorin Bontea (MasterChef), Bogdan Croitoru (known as Fizz), Razvan Fodor, Augustine Viziru, the legendary Helmuth Duckadam and Adrian Minune.
Stars Tournament benefited of an impressive media exposure and it was live broadcasted with cards in limelight. This event is part of PokerFest’s efforts to achieve a large exposure for poker and to change the public’s perception of the poker industry and poker players.
