The Responsible Gambling Trust (RGT) the leading charity in the UK committed to minimising gambling-related harm, has confirmed that it will be taking a high profile presence at February’s ICE exhibition (2-4 February, ExCeL Centre, London).
The organisation will be using ICE to publish its Annual Report, raise the profile of its GambleAware brand and showcase the world-leading research, harm prevention and treatment work that has been commissioned thanks to voluntary donations from the gambling industry.
Marc Etches, Chief Executive of RGT stated: “As the world’s leading gaming exhibition, ICE represents an invaluable opportunity for RGT to continue to raise the profile of its work. We will also be explaining the ambitious programme which we are planning to undertake over the next three years and using this forum to remind a significant number of industry players of the necessity of contributing to the charity to support this work. RGT asks that the industry contributes 0.1% of Gross Gambling Yield. The latest Gambling Commission statistics show this should amount to around £9 million per annum and RGT currently expects to receive in the region of £6.3 million in this financial year (excluding the National Lottery).”
Jo Mayer, Marketing Director responsible for ICE added: “There’s no doubt in my mind that ICE shows the gambling industry at its very best. This is an industry which is one of the first to embrace and deploy advances in technology, which plays a pivotal role in many national and regional economies and which has also demonstrated a strong commitment to social responsibility. I am delighted that a leading charity such as RGT will be using ICE to showcase the invaluable work it undertakes in the field of harm prevention and to encourage the take-up of the 0.1% Gross Gambling Yield funding model.”
