A new report on Electronic Table Games (ETGs) in Asia predicts they will number more than 15,000 by the end of 2018 on the back of new property openings in Macau, Vietnam, the Philippines, Russia and Korea.
The analysis by Union Gaming estimates the current number of ETGs across Asia at over 14,000 including 12,700 in Asia’s seven primary markets. Around 1,200 new ETGs have been installed over the past 12 months – most of them at Wynn Palace, Parisian Macao and Okada Manila.
The estimation result from faster-than-expected delivery of the various projects in Vietnam, but also South Korea and Vladivostok (Russia).
The report lists local supplier LT Game as the clear leader in the ETG field across Asia with 36% market share thanks to its dominant position in Macau, with Aruze (14%), Interblock (12%), Scientific Games (11%) and Alfastreet (10%) the other big players holding double digit share.
The report predicted demand to grow significantly post-2019 thanks to new properties to open in Vietnam, Vladivostok, Manila, Incheon and Jeju, while Japan will likely become a significant Electronic Table Games market.
