William Hill, announced Thursday that the group has been recommended for licensing after the Nevada Gaming Control Board voted unanimously for approval, joining now Bally Technologies & IGT as front runners to be first into Nevada.

The next and final phase of licensing is set for June 21st when William Hill, Bally and IGT appear in front of the Nevada Gaming Commission.

Ralph Topping, Chief Executive for William Hill, commented: “We are extremely pleased to have the Nevada Gaming Control Board’s recommendation for licensing. We now look forward to our hearing with the Gaming Commission in two weeks’ time. Nevada regulators have been extremely fair and detailed in their assessment of our entry into the state, and we are grateful for their decision today.”

The UK-based bookmaker made its initial entry into Nevada in spring 2011 when agreements were signed to purchase American Wagering Incorporated, Club Cal Neva and Brandywine Bookmaking LLC.
