The full list of submissions for new internet address endings has been published by the global organisation co-ordinating the expansion, Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
Applicants had to pay a $185,000 (£118,800) fee to take part in the application process. They also face a minimum $25,000 annual renewal charge to keep their suffix once it has been granted.
The launch of the names is expected in the first part of 2013, however many analysts expect legal wrangling over many applicants and most likely a delay is expected.
The most interesting applicants in the gambling World are as follows:
.BET – dot Bet Limited, Afilias Ltd, Ladbrokes International Plc
.BINGO – Sand Cedar LLC, dot Bingo Ltd
.CASINO – dot Casino Ltd, Binky Sky LLC, Afilias Ltd, dotBeauty LLC
.DEALER – Dealer Dot Com, Inc.
.GENTING – Resorts World Inc Pte. Ltd.
.LADBROKES – Ladbrokes International Plc
.TAB – Tabcorp Holdings Ltd
.WILLIAMHILL – William Hill Organization Ltd
Most interesting is the lack of some of the other large online operators NOT to apply and seem to want to see how the likes of William Hill and Ladbrokes fair before taking the plunge.
