Talking to Valentin Adrian Georgescu, CEO of NOVOMATIC Romania
Casino Life & Business Magazine granted him, during the 2020 edition of the Gala of the Grand Awards of the Romanian Gambling Industry, the Special Awards for “30 Years of Activity in the Romanian Gambling Industry”.
➤ What did the year 2020 mean for NOVOMATIC Romania? And what it mean for you?
A year of introspection and perseverance in business, but also a global lesson in caring for those around us. For each of us it was an unpredictable and unstable year.
The year 2020 had a strong resonance, due to the 30th anniversary of its activity in the industry. Coincidentally or not, this year has forced us to mobilize and realize, more than ever, that the experience gained is not in vain. It determined us to stay with the industry with real solutions and to support it with all possible levers. In addition, I took over the operational part for admiral.ro and hired staff. I believe that we have successfully re-established our priorities and that we have managed to end the year on an optimistic note.
➤ What is it like to have 30 years of experience in the field?
It is an enormous satisfaction to look around and to be aware of the progress of the NOVOMATIC, ADMIRAL and TIP & CASH brands in Romania. From the very beginning, my passion for this field guided me to make good decisions, to constantly learn and to build a reliable team, with which I can make these things possible. I am satisfied and I am convinced that the Group’s brands are going in the right direction.
➤ If you were not part of this industry, what other field would you have chosen?
I was attracted both by the study of the ethical foundations of the normative system and by the economic sector. So, I think I would have chosen the legal field or finance. I am grateful that by working in this industry, I have been able to develop more passions.
➤ Do you have hobby time? Which are these?
Yes, I manage to organize myself and make time for my hobbies. I recommend everyone to find their balance through activities of this type.
I am passionate about tennis, motorcycling and travel and I think it is imperative to offer quality time to find our strength and inspiration. The positive effects can be seen on all levels.

➤ How do you see the year 2021, both professionally and personally?
2020 has taught us to make short-term plans, and this year will not be much different.
We will continue to support our customers and partners through one-off campaigns, depending on the inherent changes. At the same time, I hope for more stability and economic support. Personally, I want us all to be healthy, to be able to travel safely and to see our loved ones more often.
➤ How did NOVOMATIC Romania prepare for this new year?
We have already come to welcome customers with good news for the beginning of the year. We offer two free months for new or renewed leases, we will expand the successful offers and, of course, we have a few more surprises ready, which you will find out soon. We continue to be with the industry, and this motivates us every day to find effective solutions.
