by Poker Player
Between 11 and 18 of May, the Pullman Hotel in Bucharest will host the already consecrated brand ‘Israel Poker Tour’, a series of festivals to be attended by a high number of foreign tourists, mainly from Israel.
The Festival agenda is diverse and designed to make everyone’s day. The price range for the 15 events will go from the qualification tournaments of a RON 120 buy-in to €1,000 high rollers.
The buy-in for the Main Event is €550 and a guaranteed prize pool (on the organizer’s side) of €150,000. In other words, a percentage of circa 10-15 of the number of participants will split this considerable amount and the first place will receive over €40,000.
The total prize pool for the Festival for the awards is €200,000.
The great finale with the last 9 players left in the competition will have a live broadcast on www.pokerfest.ro, Monday 18 of May, starting at 2 p.m., local time.
The access to the main tournament can be much cheaper than €550, thanks to the 5 super-satellites: qualification tournaments starting from RON 120 and whose winners are eligible for the main tournament.
There are also satellites for the high-roller tournament of €1,000 are scheduled, and also for the next seaside Main Event PokerFest in June.
Besides the Main Event, there are also 5 Side Events, with buy-ins from RON 150 to €1,000, comprising a large variety, such as turbo, rebuy&addon, knockout, deep stack, re-entry, second-chance, freezeout.
The Festival will be also welcoming the cash games players. In the card room at Pullman, cash tables will be open 24/7, from small stakes to bigger ones for the high-rollers.
This event is the third in the ‘IPT’ series, while the first two took place in 2014 and enjoyed a beyond-expectations success.
Why “Israel Poker Tour”?
Sorin Constantinescu, CEO PokerFest: “In a poker festival, tournaments are played where over 10% of the players win prizes. The idea is that the success of a tournament greatly depends on the number of participants. It is like a catch 22: the more people come, the more attractive the prizes are and the higher the prizes, the more people enter the competition. We have approached the issue from both sides: we have a guaranteed prize pool of €150,000 for this festival. And the Israeli players who said would come reach a higher number but they are weaker players than Romanians, who had the time and the facilities to learn the game.’
The beauty of poker is that anyone can win at any time, and the amount of €200,000 guaranteed for the prizes is sufficient for letting anyone have access to a share of it. For reservations, the PokerFest team can be reached at
