There is beyond doubt that Foxwoods is the greatest hotel and complex of casinos on the eastern coast in the USA. A vast area of the complex is surrounded by an unreal landscape, which creates the illusion of being cut off the world, far away from the commotion of the big cities.
Located in Mashantucket, Connecticut, the resort spreads on an area of 440,000 sqm. The Casino features over 380 playing tables for a variety of games, such as: Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Casino War, Craps, Crazy 4 Poker, In Bet In Between, Let It Ride, Money Wheel, Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow Tiles, Roulette, Sic Bo, Spanish 21, Three Card Poker, etc. Also, the Casino is known to have the highest number of slot machines in the world, namely 7,600.
A bingo hall at first
Foxwoods was opened for business in 1986, as a bingo hall. The Casino was financed by Lim Goh Tong, a Chinese who founded the only legal casino in Malaysia. Lim passed away in October 2007. In 1992, the owners – Mashantucket Pequot Tribe – added table games and, a year later, the slots. The Casino representatives agreed to pay 25% of the slot machine revenue to the state of Connecticut, an amount reaching circa $200 million per year.
Ultramodern accommodation
The Foxwoods complex welcomes its guests and provides everything for their tastes. The Casino hosts a wide range of restaurants and open bars (over 30), matching all taste buds.
Hard Rock Cafe is present there, too. The superbe location also exhibits spa resorts, performing theaters, golf courses and many others. The impressive complex was remodelled in 1992, 1997 and 2007.
