Live poker tournaments in Romania will take place this year under Pokerfest and Unibet auspices, thanks to a 2017 partnership signed between the two operators.
The first two stages of this collaboration already took place: Unibet Romanian Poker Series in January and Grand 300 in February.
The stakes of the series are getting bigger because URPS had a buy in of 150 euros, Grand 300 had one of 330 euros and the next event that will take place in March (March 26th- April 2nd), Israeli Poker Championship (IPC) will have a buy in of 550 euros.
A massive festival is foreseen, because more than 200 Israeli players already confirmed their attendance, since Romania is a traditional “refuge” for poker enthusiasts in Israel, a country with an extremely restrictive legislation where poker is concerned- but with a population very eager to play.
Given the collaboration with Unibet Poker, the festival will be preceded by an intensive campaign of online qualifications, with mega satellites of 75 euros on March 12 and 19th and also with a last chance tournament of 33 euros, on March 22nd. Obviously, the classic live super sat- ellites will not miss, at least three such tournaments with tens of guaranteed tickets will take place between 26-March 28th inside the World Trade Center dome in Bucharest where the festival will happen.
The 550 euro Main Event will be accompanied by many side events with buy ins for all budgets and cash games at all stakes players desire.
The IPC stages always attract numerous participants because the Israelis’ presence at the tables agitates the entire Romanian community of live tournaments.
These players are impulsive, eager to have fun and have an extremely open game style which suits any patient grinder which has the ability to capitalize on the need of entertainment of the guests in the Middle East.
“It will be a big festival because the timing is perfect, we know this from previous years, and the Israeli players are always the salt and pepper of the IPC, says Sorin Constantinescu, Pokerfest CEO.
“The dome at the WTC hosted, in December 2015, the most popular Romanian tournament of all times,”Winmasters Poker Open”, when we had 1060 players at the tables at the same tournament.
So it is a lucky hall and this will be confirmed at the first IPC this year”.
If you intend to attend, it is better to get in touch as soon as possible with the organizers, on website www.pokerfest.ro, to book your accommodation as close as possible to the arena of the festival, near the Pullman hotel.
