From playing poker to extreme sport
The high stakes American poker pro ran the Sahara Race, an extreme sport event, and blogged about it.
Brian Townsend really wanted to prove his great endurance and that he can handle other stuff than gambling. So, the American player tested both his physical and mental strength during the Sahara Race. The competition started on October 28 and ended five days later. Townsend had to face excruciating weather conditions, such as temperatures of over 45 degrees Celsius along the 250-kilometre distance. In spite of his weaker moments, the American managed to cross the finishing line.
On the 78th place
Brian placed on the 78, out of the 146 participants. About this more than interesting experience, he blogged,’I have made incredible friends, saw part of the world I would never experienced.. this race was without a doubt one of my proudest accomplishments…I hope to have more experiences as amazing as this one…’. In his career of professional poker player, Brian cashed in $230,000 from the live tournaments.
