Trump Entertainment Resorts has entered into bankruptcy following weeks of speculation about the company.
The operator which runs the soon to be closed Trump Plaza and the Trump Taj Mahal filed the papers on Tuesday 9th September in Bankrupcty court in Delaware.
The company said it had debts of over $100 million and would almost certainly default on repayments if it did not go into chapter 11.
Donald Trump still owns a 10% stake in the firm, but no longer controls it and has threatened to sue if the company did not remove his name from the casinos.
It is not the first time Trump Entertainment Resorts have file for bankruptcy, the last time was in 2009.
