Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in the Romanian Parliament it was voted the new gambling legislation.
The main changes of the Romanian gambling legislation are
Admission fee – ticket, for:
casinos – 50 RON
poker clubs- 30 RON
VLT’s are no longer considered as a Lottery type game, there are defined as a slot-machines, and VLT operators must pay 400 EUR/year/ 1 VLT;
The minimum number of slot-machines for specialized rooms will be 20 devices in Bucharest and 12 outside Bucharest.
The minimum number of slot-machines for 1 operator is 75, not 100;
The minimum subscribed and paid capital for poker clubs organizers and poker festival organizers is 100.000 RON
Online gambling operators must pay a fee of 20% on GGR made from Romania’s players since the adoption OUG77 / 2009 (n.b. the law came into force later) until now, as were operating without a license in our country. These operators will have 90 days from the adoption of this law to pay these amounts.
