The “AHA” moment of Bitcoin investments

Marius Morra, CEO and Co-founder of TOKERO Crypto Exchange: when was the time and why I made the decision to invest in crypto.

First of all, we must agree that “The Aha moment” sounds much better in English than in Romanian, but it is important to understand the essence of this expression.

I had an “Aha moment” in 2015 when I first heard about Bitcoin. At that time, I had already been running a consulting company for European funds since 2011. I considered myself a knowledgeable guy, but when I saw how complex the Bitcoin system was, I realized I was way behind on things. It was decidedly less information than it is today, but enough to make me think “How the hell did this phenomenon go unnoticed until now?”.

I was so convinced of the impact this field would have and I knew instantly that I would develop enormously if I made a business in crypto.

One of the most famous Aha moments was that of Archimedes, known for the famous “Evrika!”, speaked when he was taking a bath, on which occasion he discovered the Hydrostatic Law – a very precise way of calculating the volume of bodies of irregular shapes (a problem that seemed unsolvable at the time). Legend has it that the emotion produced by his revelation was so strong that Archimedes would have immediately left the bathroom directly on the streets of Syracuse, naked, to communicate the discovery to everyone.

They followed Isaac Newton, when, “thanks to” the apple that fell on his head while lazing under a tree, he discovered the Law of Universal Gravitation, and much later Satoshi Nakamoto, when he wrote the Bitcoin White Paper, thus starting the process of decentralization and the creation of a new investment asset classes – cryptocurrencies.

We easily realize that history holds the big Aha moments that start progress, but I strongly believe that progress is sustained by small individual Aha moments. We don’t have moments like this every day, they appear more like once every few years or maybe once in a lifetime. All they have in common is that they don’t last very long, but they always give strong signals and make big changes.

Oprah Winfrey, the famous American star, gives the best definition of such a moment:
“The thing about the Aha moment,” said Oprah “is that you think you’ve never thought of it before… But you can’t have an Aha unless you already have it in your subconscious. So the Aha is remembering what you already knew, articulated in a way that resonates with your own truth and your own beliefs and values. So Aha is not someone who teaches you something. Aha is someone who helps you remembering.”

Someone reminded me too. The situation is extremely funny to me, that’s why I think I will always remember it. At a baptism, in March 2017, a friend obsessively repeated crypto to me. That night we had a complete Aha and made the decision to move on to fixed action from the next day. By the end of the year, both myself and TOKERO co-founder Sabin Simionescu left our core activities and jumped “All-In” into Crypto. If for him the field in which he was active had continuity, for me the directions changed radically, from consulting in European funds to crypto.

Crypto “All-In” is not just about trading as most probably think. This field for us mostly meant a business – a cryptocurrency exchange platform. The most well-known activity related to crypto is indeed that of an investor – active or passive depending on the time dedicated.

In the last 2-3 years, in addition to the investor side, crypto has developed a lot, we see it before our eyes, a very high demand for accounting, legal and marketing specialists. We are not talking about IT anymore! Crypto/blockchain savvy salaries are the highest in IT right now. The other day I even talked to a very good architect who already has clients and design project requirements in Metaverse.

I’m really curious what other crypto-related jobs will appear in the coming years, who and what Aha moments there will be.

I am absolutely convinced that you too had your Aha moment. My question for you today is whether or not you gave it a go. If so, I’m curious how it changed your life (in a radical way for the better, of course). If not, what stops you from taking the leap: your comfort zone, the people around you or the fears that make you tremble when you think about jumping?.

Ina Catrinescu, author and TEDx speaker said: “Aha moments are accelerators of possibility, they dissolve boundaries and make us see things differently. Once a mind has reached an Aha moment it can never return to its original state.”

If you haven’t had such a moment yet, don’t panic. Everything comes to you at the right time, when you are ready to receive. You just have to pay attention to the signals!

If you don’t know much about crypto but want to educate yourself, my signal today is an invitation to TOKERO’s education platform – First Cryptocurrency (http://primacriptomoneda.ro) – where we have prepared a FREE crypto initiation COURSE for you. It’s short and to the point, just enough to quickly learn the basics of cryptocurrency investing.

What I recommend is, however, if you’re going to have an “AHA moment”, don’t go out on the street naked like Archimedes.

Although, damn, it’s not like it’s such a high price for a great Aha!
