Resorts World Las Vegas will be a 3,500-room, Chinese-themed hotel and casino on the Las Vegas Strip, which is still in the pre-development stage.

The project just approved by commissioners will function as a sneak peek at what the mammoth resort will have to offer.

The exhibit will consist of an entry gate and a showroom devoted to previews of Resort World.

“It’s very Asian, and it’s what is considered Asian colors, which are red and gold. It uses Asian architecture [on the] rooflines and so forth,” said planning consultant Gregory Borgel of the forthcoming exhibit.

The entry gate will feature music, entertainment and a big event on Chinese New Year.

Resorts World Las Vegas is expected to generate several thousand jobs and it will be situated across from the Wynn Las Vegas at the site of the old Stardust Hotel and Casino.

“We think we are going to help that end of the Strip by being an attraction. Even though we don’t have a hotel yet, we think our preparatory work will bring people up the Strip,” Borgel said.

It’s anticipated the showroom will be incorporated into Resorts World upon completion.

Construction on the actual Resorts World is expected to begin this time next year with an anticipated opening in 2016.
