Robert Cezărescu, champion at PokerFest Piatra Neamt
Between 18th and 22nd of April, the card-playing lovers were in for a real competition-like treat. The third stage of the season two in the Pokerfest tournaments reached, for the first time, the city at Pietricica foothills. The tournament enjoyed an extraordinary interest, as a large number of players were packing to enter the competition. The winner of the Pokerfest in Piatra Neamt was Robert Cezărescu.
It was not only the number of players, but also the level of the contest that appealed to the attention of the participants, who registered for the Supersatelit, Side Event and the Main Event. Robert Cezărescu chose to list himself for the PokerFest tournament in Piatra Neamt, leaving behind the European Poker Tour Berlin, in Germany. He won by heads-up against Narcis Olaru, cashing in a prize of EUR25,500 and, sure enough, the tournament cup. Robert Cezărescu managed to keep his chip leader position for the Final Table and commuted, thanks to a prudent game, to being the winner of the Piatra Neamt tournament. In spite of playing among his admirers, Narcis Olaru had to come to grips with his losing, mainly because the hand winning the heads-up was a royal flush. He placed second and was given a prize of EUR14,800. Lucian Ungureanu, the third place player, went home 9,850 euros richer.
18 players made the list of winners
The Pokerfest tournament in Piatra Neamt was hosted by the Plaza Hotel. A total of 204 players registered for the competition and 18 of them won the available prizes. A premiere took place at this tournament – the Final Table was broadcast live, with no delay or holecards. In spite of some technical glitches related to the hotel internet connection, the television transmission was probably one of the best. Before the tournament in Bucharest, it is certain that everything will be put in place so that we will be able to watch a livestream comparable to the greatest poker tournaments in the world.
