Jessie Vard an Irish glamour model who lives in Bangkok Thailand after moving there when a child with her family has been charged with promoting illegal gambling and could face up to a year in a Thai jail.
The model aged just 19 and who has millions of followers on social media was hired to promote an online gambling site for the World Cup and says she did not know it was illegal.
But now the aspiring model has ended up in court following posting several promotions for the illegal site to her followers. In the photos Jessie can be seen holding her phone in sexy snaps with the website clearly shown.
In total there are 15 models that have been issued with arrest warrants to appear in court on similar charges, as of Tuesday Jessie and four other girls named have turned themselves in to authorities, the other girls have not done so yet.
Thailand that has been cracking down on illegal gambling in the run up and during the FIFA World Cup have dubbed the models “net pretties” who gambling operators use to promote their sites.
Vard has come out publicly and apologized on behalf of all the girls.
She said:”I did not know that gambling sites were illegal. I apologies to everybody and accept my mistake.
“Please do not become involved with these sites.”
All the models have been released on bail waiting sentencing later this month.
