Game World becomes the new main sponsor of the women’s and men’s handball teams of the Bucharest Municipal Sports Club
Starting with the 2021-2022 competition season, Game World, the leader of the premium gaming halls segment in Romania, is the main sponsor of the women’s and men’s handball teams of the Municipal Sports Club (CSM) Bucharest. Thus, the official shirts of the two teams will wear the Game World logo in all the matches in the official calendar.
For the company founded 22 years ago, which operates at Bucharest Mall the largest slot machine room in South-Eastern Europe, sports sponsorships – and, in general, involvement in social responsibility initiatives – are nothing new. In the past years, the group has financially supported the Nadia Comăneci Foundation, volleyball and handball teams from Alba and Constanța, national golf tournaments and other competitions held locally. The brand ambassador is, since 2020, the former great international Helmut Duckadam. Also, Game World supported last year with over 100,000 euros hospital units in Bucharest and 11 other cities in the country and the SMURD Foundation.
Although for now the announcement of the partnership between Game World and CSM refers only to the competitive season that is just beginning, the statements of company and club officials speak of a partnership that “looks to the future”, implying that the agreement will continue in future seasons.

For the Game World group, the decision to continue investing in CSR programs comes after a period of much turbulence, marked by the uncertainties generated by the coronavirus pandemic, the restrictions imposed by the authorities and the succession of periods in which the activity was suspended. „We have a solid market position and we have proven flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly, which has allowed us to absorb the shocks of the last period. It was not the suspension of the activity itself that affected us the most, but the fact that we had to repeatedly close and then resume our activity, depending on the local evolution of the epidemic and independently in each city. I had weeks in which I had closed the halls in Bucharest, but I reopened in Constanța or Alba Iulia, then vice versa and so on. In these circumstances, the fact that we have managed to maintain our CSR initiatives is a great satisfaction.”, says Török.

At CSM Bucharest we managed to build a tradition of performance, with a title of European champion and four titles of national champions for girls, respectively an EHF Challenge title for boys. In the Champions League groups from the 2021-2022 season, the girls have a difficult group, with opponents like Buducnost – the champion of Montenegro, Brest Bretagne – the champion of France and Borussia Dortmund – the holder of the title in Germany. Our goal is to qualify for the Final 4 of the Champions League and the three national trophies: the championship, the Cup and the Super Cup.”
In September, Game World Romania will celebrate 22 years of activity in Romania, activity started in 1999, with the opening of the Game World Bucharest Mall Vitan. Today, following continuous investment, it has become the largest gaming hall in Southeast Europe. Game World operates in Romania seven game rooms in the premium category in Bucharest, Constanța, Brașov and Alba Iulia.
