Fresh new series launches at PokerStars.com, and Southern Europe and Italy get biggest MicroMillions to date.

The PokerStars.com community will experience a brand-new series at the end of this month with the PokerStars 50/50 Series. The series features fifty events, including cut-price versions of some of PokerStars’ most popular regular tournaments, each with a buy-in of $50 and huge guarantees including the $1 million Main Event on February 7.

A total of $6.2 million is guaranteed to be awarded to players between January 31 and February 7 during the 50/50 Series.

The new series gives players the chance to take part in their favourite tournaments or try something new for less, while competing for increased prize pools. Players can qualify for the 50/50 series from January 25 via satellites from just $1.10.

MicroMillions in Southern Europe and Italy

Also, kicking off on January 31 in Southern Europe and Italy is PokerStars popular low-stakes series MicroMillions. Players in France, Spain, and Portugal will be able to play for a slice of a massive €5 million guaranteed prize pool, the biggest ever prize pool for a MicroMillions series in Southern Europe and double the previous year’s.

Running until February 11, the schedule features 161 tournaments and buy-ins from €2. Highlights include:

€50 buy-in Progressive Knockout Main Event on February 7 with €300,000 guaranteed.
€30 buy-in 30 Special PKO on January 31 with €125,000 guaranteed.
Three Phase events with buy-ins of €1, €3 and €10 buy-in, and guarantees of €50,000, €100,000 and €200,000 respectively. Phase 1 gets underway prior to the starts of the series on January 23 and Phase 2 starts on February 11.
Players can win their way to the series via qualifiers from €0.50.

In Italy, MicroMillions takes place over the same dates with over €2 million guaranteed across 95 events. This is also the biggest MicroMillions guarantee to date in Italy. The €50 buy-in Main Event on February 7 features a €200,000 guarantee and the Italian PokerStars community can qualify for the series through €1 satellites.
