Fremont Hotel & Casino

The Fremont Hotel & Casino is located in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The casino is operated by the Boyd Gaming Corporation. The Fremont Hotel is located on 200 Fremont Street. Fremont Street is a street is the second most famous street in the Las Vegas Valley after the Las Vegas Strip. Named in honor of explorer John Charles Frémont and located in the heart of the downtown casino corridor, Fremont Street is the address for many famous casinos.

Fremont Hotel & Casino was designed by architect Wayne McAllister and opened on May 18, 1956 as the tallest building in the state of Nevada. At the time of its opening it had 155 rooms, cost $6 million to open and was owned by Ed Levinson and Lou Lurie. In 1974 Allen Glick’s Argent Corporation purchased the Fremont and in 1976 expanded the casino at a cost of $4 million. In 1983 Sam Boyd bought the Fremont to add it to his Boyd Gaming group properties. Today, Boyd Gaming Corporation’s impressive roster includes 12 casino entertainment properties with operations in Nevada, Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana, and Illinois.

The Fremont Hotel and Casino is one of the casinos and hotels currently located in Downtown Las Vegas, on what is commonly referred to as the four corners. These are the four main hotels that are located on the corner of Casino Center Boulevard and Fremont Street. The Fremont is a symbol of what visitors love most about Las Vegas. The excitement, the hospitality, and the allure of the lights and gaming tables, have been a trademark of the Fremont for more than 40 years.

If you have watched any movies featuring Las Vegas, like Casino, you have probably seen the Fremont Hotel and Casino. In May of 2006, the Fremont Hotel and Casino turned 50. For almost six decades, the Fremont has been serving tourists in their hospitable way. The Fremont Hotel and Casino isn’t known for entertainment, beyond great gambling options. In the summer of 2006, the Fremont underwent a complete renovation to update their rooms. And the casino was renovated in 2007. The new decor is tranquil and gives visitors a nice relaxing feeling, quite different from the energy in the casino. A secret of the Fremont’s success has been the incredible array of fine foods offered at their many award-winning restaurants. Combine that with a recent resort-wide renovation, and you’ll see that the Fremont has all the things that help make Las Vegas one of the most fabulous cities in the world.

The Fremont Casino stretches 3,000 square meters. Casino games include Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Keno, Let It Ride, Pai Gow Poker, Poker, Roulette, Slots, Megabucks and Super Megabucks. Fremont casino is home to 1,063 slots, video poker and keno machines.
