First Look Games

First Look Games’ integrates with 1account and upgrades Demo Game Server to simplify route to showcase free-to-play games.

1account, a leading KYC & AML technology provider to gaming operators and affiliates, has provided its state-of-the art age verification technology for free to all UK players on First Look Games’ newly upgraded Demo Game Server (DGS). The DGS will now include a monitoring system to ensure continuity of availability of demo game content and provide universal access, freely available, to all registered affiliates.

First Look Games’ Demo Game Server encompasses free age verification checks for UK players from 1account as part of the software. This means that affiliates and game developers will be able to benefit from being fully compliant with the UK Gambling Commission’s regulations, along with other regulated market conditions as required.

“Integrating 1account’s age verification platform into our DGS, raises compliance standards with minimal friction for a player’s journey and gives developers an easier route to showcasing their free-to-play versions of their slot games via affiliate websites.” commented, Tom Galanis, Director of First Look Games.

Built by iGaming affiliate marketing experts, First Look Games is a hub for casino affiliates around the world, allowing them to access marketing assets and game information from the industry’s leading and most innovative game providers.

1account’s age verification is designed to help to prevent underage gaming, unlawful betting online and anywhere that online vendors are offering age-restricted products and/or services that are required by law to age verify their customers before providing goods or services. 1account provides these online businesses with a secure technical solution to validate primarily, among other things, age and identity, thereby aligning with the British Government’s strategy to build a Digital Identity Trust Framework, which works in perfect synergy with what First Look Games is trying to achieve for its affiliates.

Ben Keirle, Chief Executive of 1account, commented: “We are delighted to provide First Look Games with our instantaneous identity and age verification service for their newly upgraded Demo Game Server. It allows developers to showcase their games to players via affiliates, so that players can safely access free versions of their games, while being confident that their personal details are secured by 1account’s state-of-the-art technology. The benefits this offers to the wider ecosystem mean that the partnership also provides protection to minors, which is pivotal in helping licensed operators and their players to make the transition to a truly digitised responsible gaming future.”

In the event of a successful age verification match, the user will be able to access the free-to-play game on the affiliate website, however, if a match is not made, a video of the game is played instead.

The tool is currently available for the UK market where developers must adhere to LCCP Social Responsibility Code Provision 1.1.2, which states that free-to-play games cannot be accessed by children and those under the age of 18 years via affiliate websites.

Tom Galanis, Director of First Look Games, added: “Age verification and therefore responsible gambling is very important in the online gaming industry, as well as ensuring the legitimacy of a player to bet. For us, player protection is a must. Therefore, we want the experience to be safe and positive for all, which is why 1account’s free online age verification service appealed to us, more than any other.”

First Look Games has also solved the problem of outages with any demo game links. Galanis, explains: “Unfortunately, this happens from time to time, so we’ve developed an intelligent monitoring system, which alerts both First Look Games and our game studio partners of any outages, and we’ll arrange for the links to update without need for user input.”
