A crowd puller for the poker fans

The stars showed up in a big number at World Series Of Poker 2012 taking place at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, and each of them wished to prove who really is the hotshot in this sport that sparks so much passion.

As in every year, various stars took the tournament by storm, coming from sport, television and movies. There were also present at the tables inside the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas the NHL player Roberto Luongo, actor Ray Romano (‚Everybody loves Raymond’), star Kevin Pollak, soccer player Teddy Sheringham, actor Robert Iler, comedian Jason Alexander – whom the Romanian TV viewers know as George Constanza in the ‚Seinfeld’ sitcom, director Mars Callahan and the Australian cricket player Shane Warne, no other than the fiance of the seductive British actress Liz Hurley. Similarly, the former NBA champion Earl Barron was there, too.
In time, the playing tables in the opulent rooms of the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas hosted other movie personalities in love with poker, such as: Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Tilly, Tobey Maguire and James Wood.

Liz Hurley, a good luck girl

The charming British actress Liz Hurley was an epithome of elegance at WSOP 2012. Diva joined the tournament to encourage her lover, the Australian cricket player Shane Warne. ‚I will be watching Warne at the world poker championship. I have no clue about what’s going on at the tables, but I am definitely having fun, tweeted the British star. Her presence proved a good omen for the Australian, who qualified for the second day.

A living legend at the tables

Doyle Brunson, a 78-year old living legend in poker attended the WSOP 2012. As expected, his presence could not be missed. Who is this Doyle Brunson? A great champion who has been successfully playing this mind sport for over 50 years. He started playing poker illegally on Exchange Street in Texas with his friend, Dwayne Hamilton. Once bitten by the gambling bug, they decided to travel through the entire America for bigger games. During the years, they met other poker legends – Amarillo Slim and Sailer Robert, whom they became good friends with. The duo settled in Las Vegas, where they started playing at the World Series Of Poker, which they contributed to create in 1970. Since then, Doyle Brunson played every Main Event. He was the first winner of a World Championship of Poker back to back and won ten WSOP bracelets and almost three million dollars from WSOP prizes.
