Admiral Sportwetten, the Novomatic subsidiary, is one of the first private operators to be granted a licence by the Darmstadt Regional Council.

Novomatic subsidiary can now offer sports betting all over Germany.

In February 2020 Darmstadt Regional Council was preparing to take action to stamp out unlicensed activity in the market and issue the first licences.
At that date the Council contacted around 100 operators to inform them of the licensing process, and to warn that they will face blocking orders should they fail to apply for certification.
