Unprecedented International Participation at WPO 2015
There is no better argument in the world of poker tournaments than the sum guaranteed by the organizer. This is also the case for the last big Romanian poker festival for 2015, winmasters Poker Open, where half a million Euros can be won in the 24 tournaments to be played between the 13th and the 21st of December in the World Trade Center dome in our capital.
Out of this guarantee, the main tournament alone – Main Event – has 400.000 Euros guaranteed in prizes, an impressive amount, considering the modest buyin of only 550 Euros.
As a consequence of this extremely powerful message coming from the organizers, the gaming website winmasters.ro and the PokerFest tournaments operator, the international community of the professional players has reacted promptly: no less than 300 players have announced their participation in December in Bucharest. So, 300 tourists who come especially to play poker – in case anybody needed another argument that poker is a wonderful instrument for stimulating tourism.
Big cities in Europe – Prague, Vienna, Barcelona – are literally assaulted by players during the major festivals. There are therefore chances that Bucharest – the most secure European capital according to all statistics – enters this effervescent poker circuit.
The image ambassadors for the tournaments series are the film director Dan Chişu and the star Gina Pistol.
They have an excellent public image and are a good intermediary between the poker game and the mass media, which is only just beginning to get out of its inertia and appreciate this wonderful game of relaxation and abilities.
