Summer Series PokerStars which ran from June 7-21 generated a scorching $34 million prize pool for players, beating the $25 million guarantee.
Summer Series PokerStars saw 931,000 entries across 167 events with the $530 Main Event winner Sam Grafton, a British professional player, awarded over $200,000. He appeared on the Poker in the Ears podcast to talk about his win and upcoming role as commentator for Stadium Series. Fedor Holz also took home a title after winning the $5,200 High Roller for $156,000.
Across the series, buy-ins ranged from just $11 to $530 with satellites starting from $1.10, providing a fun and accessible route to this new tournament series.
Next up, players can take part in Stadium Series, which runs from July 5- August 2, 2020 and is awarding over $2 million in tickets. Stadium series is composed of three-tiered Heat tournaments that take place throughout the week and weekly Sunday Finals in each tier.
The buy-ins and the guarantees of the Finals increase weekly until the Grand Final on August 2, 2020 with a $5,200 buy-in and $5 million guaranteed. Fast track tickets will award five seats to the $5,200 Stadium Series Grand Final every day.
The later stages of all the High Heat tournaments from July 13 onwards will be broadcast on Twitch and feature commentary by PokerStars’ own James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton. This will be the first online series at PokerStars to feature cards-up coverage, which allows viewers to see the hole cards of players on a short delay. Twitch viewers can also take advantage of $250,000 worth of Stadium Series tickets being dropped on Twitch.
