The head of social casino and slots at Zynga has left the social gaming giant to launch her own social gambling site, is reported by The iGaming Post.

Mayatal Olsha left 888 two years ago to join Zynga to help launch the companies real money offerings, however with the company reluctant to move forward with that business Olsha left last month to mount her own business on real money.

Since former Microsoft Xbox chief Don Mattrick became chief executive of the San Francisco-based company many of the older remaining senior executives have left with only Mark Pincus, who gave up the CEO title but remains chairman, and Barry Cottle, executive vice president in charge of the poker and casino franchises.

Olsha was first employed as the chief operating officer for new markets, with her remit to take Zynga into real-money gambling. But the company changed its strategy after its disappointing public offering in 2011.

With Zynga deciding to focus instead on virtual-goods based social casino games such as Zynga Poker and Hit It Rich Slots.

Following that change in approach by Zynga, Olsha moved roles, taking over the social slots business, which included Hit It Rich Slots and Duck Dynasty Slots.

The name of the new company which will be launched and what markets Olsha will target her new company on is still not known.
