Agențiile Loto Lottery booths

Lottery booths reopen starting from today, but with sanitary restrictions in place to protect the health of the players.

The Malta Gaming Authority MGA) has announced that lottery booths will be permitted to reopen from today as part of the loosening of measures intended to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the country.

Since the March 17, a wide range of venues and facilities across Malta had been ordered to temporarily close in an effort to combat the virus, including bingo halls, casinos, betting shops, controlled gaming premises and lottery booths.

However, the government will allow lottery booths to reopen from today but with certain restrictions in place.

The MGA advised that anyone who enters into a lotto booth or shop, including employees, is required to wear a face mask.
Only one person per 10 square metres of store space will be allowed entry at any one time.

Hand sanitiser must also be placed on entry into the shop or lotto booth, while signs with information about these requirements will be posted in and around the venues to remind consumers about the restrictions.

It will be forbidden until further notice to turn on televisions inside the booths.

The restrictions have only been lifted for lottery booths and shops, with all other gambling and gaming venues required to remain closed until the government announces further changes.

Online gambling has not been impacted by the pandemic.
