Dimitrios Drosos a Greek national and director and founder of Gold Victory Limited, who was arrested and extradited to Malta after absconding from prosecution, was jailed today for misappropriating the winnings made by a number of players through his Malta-based online betting company.
Drosos, was arrested and prosecuted in 2011 after the Lotteries and Gaming Authority received a number of complaints related to unpaid winnings.
The Greek business man and Paok BC football team owner, had jumped bail when he requested to go to Greece for a medical check-up and never returned.
While forfeiting €70,000 which was set as his bail bond, Drosos was arrested in Athens earlier this year and extradited to Malta on the strength of a European Arrest Warrant.
