On March 7, the American Gaming Association (AGA) has put in a petition against PokerStars purchase of the Atlantic Casino Hotel with the New Jersey Casino Control Commission And Division Of Enforcement.
The Association are pointing their opposition that PokerStars was previously running illegal gambling in the US and is of bad character to hold a gaming operator license in the state of New Jersey.
At that time it was unclear whom was behind the move by the AGA to place the petition as the Association represents many of the major US casino operators, however Forbes have just released an article clearly pointing the finger at Caesars Entertainment.
According to the Forbes article Caesars offered to sell PokerStars the Rio Casino in Las Vegas and also the World Series of Poker brand, however PokerStars refused the offer and hence Caesars have decided to go all out against the online poker giant.
What is for certain if it is Caesars or a collection of casino operators the battle lines have been drawn and the fight for online poker dollars has started even before the first US state has even started operating.
