The Starworld Casino in Macao hosted one of the most important competition of the season. The winner cashed in an impressive prize of $6,465,746.
‚Macau High Stakes Challenge’ took place in the King Poker Club room of the Starworld Casino in Macao and gathered together many high level players. The limit of participants was 80 – a number of 73 registered and paid $257,000. Business people from Asia were among them and competed with the professionals, like Phil Ivey, Tom Dwan, Gus Hansen, Erik Seidel, Johnny Chan and Sam Trickett.
The tournament only lasted for one day. Three percent of the winnings wase donated to charities. Except from the WSOP Main Event and One Drop – where the winner took $14 millions home – this was the richest poker tournament of the year. Stanley Choi placed first at the Macao competition and went home $6,465,746 richer.
