The Telegraph newspaper which recently commissioned a survey have found that some thirty-seven per cent of UK adults would lend their support to the controversial plan for ISPs to actively block adult websites, such as porn and gambling sites.
Which effectively means forcing people to opt-in to access such sites.

The survey was carried out by mobile phone website, Recombu.com.

The survey, which polled 2,000 UK adults, also found that just under a quarter of people would not support the Government in such a strategy.

Broadband providers have been in talks with the Government about ways of enabling parents to block sites containing sexually or gambling as well as forums glorify suicide and self-harm.

The Recombu survey also found that 13 per cent of people would not actively opt in to see porn sites if their ISP blocked access – while 6.7 per cent admitted that they would.

Eighteen per cent of respondents said that would rather not stipulate either way.
