Adrenalin and cheers around tables
Craps – or rolling dice – is one of the funniest casino games. There will always be a lot of enjoyment, noise, frolic. Also, the rolling dice is one of the most popular and easiest games. It is fun for its effortless-to-understand rules, alert pace of playing and quick money winnings.
Dice is one of the oldest betting forms in the world, maybe as old as the hills. The dice game, where luck holds the spotlight, goes back a long way.
It is said that the name of this game – craps – comes from French. Even though popular in the Middle Ages, the dice game itself first showed up in France and was perfected by the African-American communities in New Orleans, Louisiana and other American states. The final changeover came with the game made its debut in the USA casinos, where it quickly gained devotees among gamblers, thanks to its simple rules.
Rules to be followed
The craps table can accommodate circa 20 players, where each can have a throw. The player needs to handle the dice one-handed only when throwing, and the die has to hit the back-stop opposite the player. In case one or two of the dice leaves the table, the stickman has to examine them, before they are put back in the game. Should a person does not want to throw the dice, he can bet on another player to do that. The dice are thrown onto the table, which is divided into three sections- two identical layouts on both ends and the center bets in the middle. Each section is like a mirror image and features multiple betting possibilities, like ‘Pass’ and ‘Don’t Pass’, ‘Come Bet’ and ‘Don’t Come Bet’, ‘Odds’ and ‘Field Bet’. The two end sections share the center and include the ‘Proposition’ line of bet. The casino craps table is run by two dealers, one boxman and a stickman.
Chances galore
When a player tosses the dice, there are 36 possible combinations for each die, where the total of values is between 2 and 12. Nevertheless, each total is unlikely to show every time, considering the combinations. Should the player gets a 2, 3 or 12 after the throw, he loses the bet; with a 7 or 11, he is a winner and gets back the double of his betting. It does not matter which number gives him the right to place bets and throw, until he wins (7, 11) or loses (2, 3, 12). Once a position is confirmed, the player can ‘entangle’ the game rules, by making various bets, such as having (or not) a ‘7’ before the point, etc.
Superstitions
In time, the craps game has born its own gamut of irrational beliefs. It is said that when a player is at the peak of the game, he should request to keep the same dice, as they are on a good money spinner. Also, when the dice leave the table, the next number to be thrown is seven.
