Central European Gambling Summit – CEGS has reached its 10th edition
An international event with a very successful new and original concept which pleased all participants.
On May 24, the 2022 edition of the Central European Gambling Summit – CEGS22 began, the industry’s first major event after more than two years of waiting caused by the covid pandemic.
The international event, which had, for the first time, a boutique-style B2B exhibition, took place in the form of two days of conferences on very current and hot topics at the Magic Place Grant Events Center in Bucharest.
Over 30 moderators and speakers from Romania and abroad debated various topics starting from the current regulations of the industry and the situation of gambling in Europe, but also about the future of this industry and post-pandemic marketing.
The President of the National Office for Gambling Alin Teodor was the Honorary President of the event and the opening of the office to a constructive dialogue with industry representatives was manifested by the large number of members present at the conference, but also at the exhibition.
The first day started under very favorable auspices and over 110 participants, Romanian and foreign, occupied all the seats in the chic Paris hall of the event complex, attending the first panel, the one dedicated to the current legislation.
In parallel, the exhibition opened where companies such as IGT, Merkur, Austrian Casinogames Technology – ACT, Alfastreet, Commodity Trust, Mozzart Bet, BMM Testlabs or Market Aroma presented their products and services.
For the first time, the National Office for Gambling participated with its own booth in the exhibition.
The first day of the Central European Gambling Summit 2022 – CEGS22 – had four panels with more and more interesting topics.
The first panel, dedicated to current legislation, was moderated by Luciana Tache, Senior Associate Corporate M&A at Wolf Theiss Law Firm. She had as guest speakers Alin Teodor, President of ONJN, Silviu Pocora, Vice-President of ONJN, Dan Ghiță, President of ROMBET, Sorin Georgescu, President of ROMSLOT, Liviu Popovici, President of Romanian Bookmakers and Ovidiu Iosif, Executive Director of the association Joc Responsabil.
The second panel of the first day at CEGS22 was a masterclass panel supported by the International Masters of Gaming Law – IMGL. The dialogue on current issues in the European gambling industry was supported by Cosmina Simion, Partner of Simion & Baciu Law Firm and Piotr Dynowski, Partner of BIRD & BIRD Law Firm in Poland, both members of IMGL.
The third panel of the day focused on the business of the day and the future of the business. The panel was moderated by Dan Ciobanu, Founder and CEO of Unigens and Remote2All and the guest speakers were Andrei Frimescu, Marketing and Communication Director of Game World Romania and Andrei Beu, CCO of Gamingtec.
The last panel of the day was moderated by Bogdan Coman, Executive Director of ROMBET and it was dedicated to AML legislation. The guest speakers were Silviu Pocora, Vice-President of ONJN, Teodora Luca, Partner in the law firm Mihai Luca and Adrian Bucur, General Manager of Mal Consulting & Management.
The second day of the Central European Gambling Summit 2022 – CEGS22 – had four panels with more interesting topics, but also a panel dedicated to news presentations by companies that have registered in advance.
The first panel of the second day, the one dedicated to post-pandemic marketing applied, was moderated by Andrei Frimescu, Marketing & Communication Manager at Game World Romania. He had as guest speakers Roxana Dinescu, Marketing & Communication Manager at BETANO, Gheorghe Cristian Dragoș, Founder of Sports Business Academy, Sorin Georgescu, President of ROMSLOT and Ovidiu Joița, Founder of iAgency.
The second panel of the second day at CEGS22 was a panel presentation by renowned international consultant Lucien Lucas Wijsman, Founder of FLEXPEQT. Lucien gave a very elaborate presentation on RTP and entitled: “THE RELEVANCE OF RTP; DO PLAYERS FEEL RTP?”
The third panel of the day was also a panel dedicated to a presentation, this time a presentation made by Alexandru Petrescu, Senior Vice-President Big Cyber and former Minister. Alexander gave a presentation on the need for cyber security. Unfortunately, her dialogue partner, Ruxandra Ion, was hospitalized shortly before the event started.
The fourth panel of the day was dedicated to the dialogue on the situation of the gambling industry in Europe and was supported by Lucien Lucas Wijsman, Founder of FLEXPEQT and Zoran Puhac, Secretary General of the European Organization of Gaming Law (EOGL).
The second day ended with presentations made by the companies OKTO, Aggero, but also by the Joc Responsabil association.

On the first night of CEGS22, also for the first time, there was a social event hosted by Palace Casino Casa Vernescu, an event in which the organizers granted, for the first time, the CEGS Awards for both the best presence and the partner of the year.
The awards were handed by Alin Teodor, President of the National Office for Gambling and Honorary President of CEGS22 and the winners were:
