For Catalin Botezatu, the summer of 2010 is marked by luxury and fashion presentation by the seashore.
Even if in parallel he is shooting for the costly TV production “Burlacul” (The Bachelor), presented by Antena 1, Catalin Botezatu took the time to design and make new collections of lingerie and haute couture. Just one month after the Bucharest Fashion Week, event within which he launched two new collections of bathing suits, Avatar and Nuns, Catalin Botezatu presented in club Le Gaga, in Bucharest, a new mixed collection of lingerie and bathing suits, Mumm Lingerie by Catalin Botezatu. The designer, now acting as ambassador of Mumm, put together a set of more than 30 clothing items rich in accessories, accompanied by jewels, veils, gloves and extravagant shoes. The catwalk in Le Gaga thus hosted an elegant show. Against the background of a collage of retro songs, two models, dressed in tuxedos, smoking cigars in relaxation, opened up two bottles of exclusive champagne Mumm, offering to the ladies who would climb on the catwalk a glass of the famous drink. The models presented to the public the new collection Mumm Lingerie by Catalin Botezatu, covered in black veils with discrete flowery imprints, veils with multicolor feathers at their extremities, accompanied by black, red or white leather gloves, necklaces and earrings with semi-precious stones.
COSTUMES IN THE SEA OF…CAMERA FLASHES
The models maintained their soberness and mystery all they way to the end of the catwalk where, to the lens of the cameras and sea of camera flashes, they revealed to the public sensual costumes, of fine silk with lace, broidery and Swarovski stones, bold cuts but also classic designs. The models displayed a make-up especially designed by Mirela Vescan, in tone with the high and flowery line of the hair made by Laurent Tourette. The lashes and eyebrows were extended by means of African cock colored feathers, emphasizing femininity, as well as mystery. The footwear was designed by Catalin Botezatu for Veronesse in the same bold tone, the braces being enriched with applications of black African cock feathers. In order to symbolize the practical, straightforward character of men, the male models made use of no accessories, but went up on the catwalk wearing just lingerie and sipping out of a glass of Mumm champagne.
BOTE, TANIA AND MUMM CHAMPAGNE
The ending of the presentation was a successful sum-up of the entire event. One of the highest models, Tania, further elevated on shoes up to 1.93 cm tall, went up on the catwalk covered by a fox fur coat, accompanied by a necklace executed with generous Swarovski stones. The lingerie item was covered in over 200 Swarovski stones which conferred the creation elegance and maximum luxury. The model was accompanied on the catwalk by Catalin Botezatu. The designer opened loudly a bottle of champagne Mumm with which he served the bride of the collection in the applauses of the more than 500 people present in Le Gaga. The collection Mumm Lingerie by Catalin Botezatu is an exclusive one, just like the Mumm brand itself and can be acquired based on order. And, since I mentioned his full schedule with the shootings for the TV show “The Bachelor”, held in Romania and abroad, Catalin was forced to give instructions by telephone, from Danube Delta, to the team preparing in Bucharest a high-end show, based on the concept of “decadent luxury”. On the catwalk, the models entered a game of seduction, seasoned to the full with the high-end Mumm champagne. One of the elegant dresses was worn for the first time at Cannes, by Irina Florea, brand manager Pernod Ricard, who also took part in the event held at Le Gaga. The seaside sows started with a mixed fashion show, held at Cafe del Mar beach, in Mamaia. Under the clear sky, at 33 Celsius degrees, in the middle of the day, was staged a special show, combining the idea of extreme luxury, through the elegant masculine suits and the evening dresses, with the bold parade of the most beautiful male models in Romania, all dressed up in underwear and accessories like leather gloves, knee sox and boxes of G.H. Mumm champagne.
