Three events organizing companies, very well known for the inland events market – Topengineering, Progress Media and 4 Tuning – decided to join hands in order to organize a high-pitched event – Miss Hostess Romania 2010. The three partners are convinced they will build a successful brand.

YOU ARE THREE CHARACTERS, DECIDED TO ORGANIZE TOGETHER A NOT VERY WELL KNOWN EVENT MISS HOSTESS ROMANIA. WHAT MADE YOU FORM THIS TEAM? HOW DID YOU GOT THE IDEA OF A COLLABORATION?

Simona Chitac (Progress Media): The idea was mine, and it all came from a necessity. In 2007, we have signed an image and management services contract with speed pilot, Daniel Onoriu. In 2009, Daniel became absolute national champion, which gave him the right to represent Romania at Rally All Stars 2010 Croatia. The organizer announced me that, in the framework of the event, will also be held the first edition of Miss Hostess Europe, and that will be a pitty for Romania not to have a representative there. That’s how was made the natural connection between my company, Progress Media, specialized in motorsport PR and 4 Tuning company, owned by Gratian Sonu, a traditional partner in motorsport events, that we operate. The Casino Magazine Awards, refreshed this year by Casino Magazine, had offered the perfect framework for this national contest. Besides, in the cold light of thinking, where could we find a more solid connection than the one between car raises, beautiful women, money and luck?
Mihnea Popescu (Topengineering): Yes, it’s all about luck and money invested in beauty. One thing in plus that Casino Magazine brings to this event is that, continuing the tradition of the annual awards, we will also include in our show the coronation of the winner. We believe that Miss Hostess will get an important aura, once it will get to rise the interest of the fascinating casino world. I think the event will be a very successful one, every one of us having in its CV the organizing of some big events, with a lot of success.

WHAT IS THE ROLE OF EACH OF YOU IN ORGANIZING THIS PARTICULAR EVENT?

Gratian Sonu (4 tuning): I have a very precise perspective of this field. One of my departments deals with organizing shows and selections for hostesses. Then, most of the VIPs in this field, some of the Miss Playboy, Daniela Crudu and many other, work with us for the events that we held in the auto and tuning fields. We have a chain of 8 events every year, and the place of the beautiful women has always been next to the powerful cars.

SIMONA CHITAC, HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO ORGANIZE A SHOW LIKE MISS HOSTESS?

It’s not very difficult. When you get to know the formula of a successful show, nothing seems difficult. We hope to find support in every city in the country, where we will hold the selections. And I am thinking, mostly, about a help from the local authorities and business community. We go for an elegant event, with a select jury, so that the winner will be proud to represent Romania to an important contest in Europe.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE AND HOW WILL THE CONTEST DEVELOP? WHAT ARE THE QUALITIES REQUIRED FOR THE CONTESTANTS AT THE SELECTION?

Mihnea Popescu: We wish that this contest be representative for Romania, and this implies that we’ll organize 4-5 local stages and the final show in Bucharest. The local stages will be held in the most important cities Iasi, Suceava, Constanta, Sibiu. Being the pilot year, we will not extend too much. After the local selections, we will organize, at the end of November, the final gala, in the framework of the Casino Awards. Miss Hostess will be crowned here, and she will represent Romania in 2011 at the international contest and festivals. The first city to have a local selection will be Constanta, at the end of August.

Gratian Sonu: Besides the aesthetics, the contestants must have PR knowledge, must know two foreign languages, they must be sociable, must know how to pose and, the most important, they must know how to put forward the item they’re promoting.

WHAT ARE, APPROXIMATELY, THE COSTS OF SUCH AN EVENT? COULD YOU NAME ONE OR MANY OF THE SPONSORS YOU HAVE FOR THIS SHOW?

Simona Chitac: Approximately 30-40.000 euro, when it comes about the organizing. If we also think about the prizes we want to award, we probably talk about much more. But, I repeat, we think about drawing into organizing this show, also the local business community, some powerful and serious sponsors and also some of the VIPs in the public life. For instance, as news, I can tell you that we will benefit from Irina Scchrotter’s support in Iasi, which means a lot to us.

ARE YOU THINKING ABOUT ORGANIZING ANY OTHER FURTHER EVENTS?

Mihnea Popescu: We are thinking about making Miss Hostess Romania an important brand in this kind of events.
