With the celebration of one year since its first appearance on the Romanian editorial scene, Casino Life and Style Magazine has granted its awards for year 2008, within a ceremony hosted by Hotel Athenee Palace Hilton in the capital.

The show, hosted by actress Crina Matei, brought together important figures from the political and artistic scenes and from the gambling industry and was an occasion for a few special artistic moments. The Casino inaugural event opened with a performance offered by the band Amadeus and during the show the band Distinto and actor Andrei Teasca were also invited.

The winners of the evening were George Ivascu, director of Me-
tropolis Theater, awarded for the First Project-Based Theater; Adrian Georgescu, administrator of Novo Invest Co, representing Novomatic in Romania, company awarded as the producer of the most successful electronic gaming machines on the market; Lucian Bute, nominated as the best Romanian boxer of all times; the Mayor of the Capital, Sorin Oprescu, awarded for his courage, under the slogan „Third time’s a charm!”; Adrian Artene, chief editor of Can-can magazine, for the courage to speak out loud and to take matters to the streets. For the section dedicated to the perseverance in the field of introducing terrestrial digital radio and TV programs, Casino magazine awarded Mircea Cazan, president of the National Radio-communications Company. A special award, for the elegance with which he accepted the greatest bet with Europe – Rin Grand Hotel in Bucharest – was handed to Robert Negoita. The president of AOCR, Sorin Constantinescu, was awarded for the endurance and the greatest seniority in the field, respectively 18 years. so awarded in the person of the general director of Ritzio Company, Alexander Ginsburg, the award being handed to Sergiu Furdui, executive director of the company. The Special Award of the evening was granted to the president of the National Lottery, Liliana Minca, for the greatest prize ever to be given in Romania.

At the Celebratory Event, Casino Life and Business Magazine awarded diplomas of excellence to its collaborators, as follows: The Romanian Basketball Federation, Carmen Tocala, the president of the Romanian Boxing Federation, Rudel Obreja, Adina Buzatu from Trends by Alina Buzatu, Alina Ciul from “Ciul&Asociatii”, Liviu Poenaru from “Poenaru si Poenaru”.

A colorful moment constituted the handover of the Casino Girl award to Roxana Cretoiu, as the one who collected the biggest number of votes on the website from among all the beauties presented along this first year within the pictorials of Casino magazine.
At the end of the Event, those present had the courtesy to give a few statements.

CARMEN TOCALA – President of the Romanian Basketball Federation – diploma of excellence

The diploma comes as a result of the partnership. After all, both casino games and basketball are gambles. If you have a lucky day in basketball, you can win; the same with the roulette. Marius R\ileanu made a promise that he would keep an eye on the award winners during the forthcoming year, in order to award them again.

ADINA BUZATU diploma of excellence

It is a very important award because it comes from a collaboration which I hope was successful and also one that I was very happy to be part of. I always enjoy working with professionals, with people who care for everything to be perfect, who do things the way they are supposed to. The ceremony was very, very elegant.

ALINA CIUL -diploma of excellence

I am very pleased. I wasn’t expecting to be awarded this diploma. It’s probably the outcome of a year’s worth of work next to the magazine, a year in which the company wrote articles in each issue of the publication and stood by its side.

GEORGE IVASCU – Director of Metropolis Theater. The First Project-Based Theater.

First of all, this award is a huge opportunity to see that Metropolis Theater, in less than one year, as we celebrate our first year of activity on January 1st 2009, is already acknowledged by people who know what investing and capital mean.

MIRCEA CAZAN – award for Perseverance in the activity of introducing terrestrial digital radio and TV programs

It’s a special event, a premier. We hope for this premier to be repeated with the other magazines as well and with everything that you do. Like I said, it’s a great thing to have friends and to cherish them. I put in considerable efforts to be able to be here tonight, but no effort is too big when you are among friends.

ADRIAN GEORGESCU – award for the Company Producing the most successful electronic gaming machines on the market.

It’s something special, something new and very beautiful. I am so happy for this award! Like I said earlier, it is the result of a hard work put in by our group and I am honoured to have been awarded it.

ADRIAN ARTENE – award for the Courage to speak out loud and to take matters to the streets

This award is all the more important as it comes from colleagues in the same business. To acknowledge the merits of a colleague is nowadays a genuine torment for many people. If you acknowledge someone’s merits, it means you know how to play fairly on the market.

SERGIU FURDUI – award for The largest electronic casinos network in Romania

This award means very much to us because it comes as a reward. It really was a merit because I set up an objective and reached it. I suspect this is the very reason for which I got the award and we will do our best to be here next year too.

DORIAN OAN – Marketing Director for Romania of the Company Bet At Home

We are satisfied to have started the collaboration in this project and we hope it to be a long term one. The brand we are promoting is also based on casinos and so we can truly expect to have a long term collaboration.
