Cosmina Pasarin is, by default, a nonconformist. She likes to travel, she likes sports, she likes men with a sense of humor, but not very possessive, she likes live television and she likes movies. By consequence, she had her existence ranged according to the precept: life is short, so let’s whoop it up!”.
DO YOU THINK THAT CELEBRITY AND BEAUTY BEAR MONSTERS IN PEOPLE’S MINDS?
Considering the fact that people sometimes react very strange, yeah, I think so. Generally speaking, the more famous you are, the more judged you are. And I’m not the only one saying that. Honestly, there’s no advantage in being very famous. The others judged you without sparing your feelings, they drive you into a corner unscrupulously, and you fight all by yourself with their preconceptions and stand the racket. I think it’s not very fair…
BUT YOU ARE TRYING TO MAKE A SPLASH, TO AROUSE YOUR “JUDGES”?
Not at all. I am a person that has always mind its own business and I think this is the right formula. If I was to burden myself with all the preconceptions of those around me, I would have lost my moral and mental stability. I stick to my business, I still want to work in television, even though most of the time, I get hog-tied, like it happened, recently, with TVR. But eventually, things work out well.
BACK TO YOUR INCIDENT, IN TVR. WHAT REALLY HAPPENED, THAT SERIOUS THAT YOU HAD TO PUT AN END TO YOUR COLLABORATION WITH THEM?
The tabloids brought out some pictures with me on a stage, holding a microphone and dancing. I was, actually, performing as an MC, a project I have for four years now. When I started to work with TVR, they knew very well about this part of my activity. But the papers also published a title that would put a stain onto anybody’s image. This aroused the reaction of TVR and all those things led to immediately putting an end to my collaboration with them, even before starting the sea side season of my show, “Tonomatul de pe 2” (“The Jukebox on 2”). As you know, I was accused of having an indecent, inadequate behavior, a charge that I considered, at least exaggerate. Many people where on my side, a lot of people called me and supported me, all of them considering that what happened with me was unfair.
DID TVR LAND ON THE FACT THAT YOU ARE MC?
No, they already knew that. They landed on my behavior. But to do this job, you need a few things cheerfulness, a good voice, dancing, energy. You cannot challenge people to have fun, at night, in a club, standing like a rock. Under these circumstances, I go on the stage, I dance, I have entertainers, DJs, a whole team to work with. When you challenge people to have fun, it’s obvious you must have a breezy attitude, but certainly not coarse and indecent, like they accused me. Therefore, I was dancing with a microphone in my hand and here I am, forced to justify myself for this; to me it’s absurd. Honestly, I think this was just a pretext.
I TEND TO THINK YOU ARE RIGHT, SINCE WE’RE TALKING ABOUT TVR, AND NOT ABOUT TRINITAS TV.
Eventually, this was their decision and I accepted it. What bothered me was that this story led to a press scandal that, I must admit, I didn’t need. I am a person that accepts and understands a lot of things, and I think that if we have had an explanatory conversation, it would have been more honest, and I wouldn’t have to go through all these. And I think that this scandal was far from doing them, also, any good. I repeat, my opinion is that they needed a pretext to take the show of the scheme. After having me removed, they put an end to the whole show. That’s a shame, because that was a good show, with tradition.
AS YOU SAID, THE FAME, THE BEAUTY AND THE FACT THAT YOU ARE A PUBLIC PERSON DOESN’T ALWAYS HELP. DID YOU EXPERIENCE OTHER THINGS LIKE THAT?
Never. This was the first time, and that’s why I didn’t know how to react. But I easily understood that I cannot be a winner in fighting with people’s preconceptions and with their rigid mindsets. On the other hand, I don’t want to tempt the providence I use to say that there are many women more beautiful than I am but, most of the times, the outside beauty makes people think that you’re either shallow, or not very smart. In few words, they gave you less credibility. And that’s because, as I was saying, we live in a country of judges.
DO WE FIND, AMONGST THESE JUDGES, SOME OF THE MEN YOU KNEW?
Yes. Unfortunately, everybody judges everybody. I happened to know also men who judged me.
BESIDE THE ANNOYANCE THAT YOU FELT, I KNOW THAT THE DISTASTEFUL EPISODE, HAD ALSO ITS GOOD CONSEQUENCES…
Well… yes. A little while after that episode, I got some proposals. Three, actually. I don’t want to give you the details now, but I’m talking about three televisions, that offered me three completely different projects. This turnout made me very happy, the more so as a scandal like this leaves marks. You know how it is, you do ten good things and a bad one, the people will remember the bad one, and by no means the good ones.
SINCE WE ARE IN ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS CASINOS IN BUCHAREST, I’M ASKING YOU: HAVE YOU EVER TRIED YOUR FORTUNE AT A GAMBLING TABLE?
No. I have never played, because I don’t know the rules. I don’t have an experience and, therefore, what you don’t know, does not tempt you. But still, I have a close connection with casino world, being many times invited to various events, as an MC. Three weeks ago, I have offered as a prize from a casino, a two bedroom apartment.
WHAT ARE THE FUTURE GOALS FOR COSMINA PASARIN?
I want to go on with my job as an MC. It’s a very good project for me, one that makes a living for me. It’s tiresome, but, in the end, one does not always do what one likes. Besides this, I want to work in television I have become addicted to live shows and movies. I played in three TV series, in a feature film directed by Serban Marinescu after a screenplay signed Mircea Danieliuc, and in another feature film, with Steven Seagal, where I played a bad girl…
